Analysis of Word Formation Process in Online Shop’s Terminologies

This study is to analyzes the type of word formation process terms in online shops. Thisresearch used descriptive qualitative. The result analysis shows four types wordformation shops, namely derivation, compounding, clipping, and acronym.The derivation forming words by giving affixes word, so results newword causes a change word-class its meaning. examples suffix are -er,-or, -al, -ment, -ed, –ing “Seller, Buyer, Supplier, Retailer, Counter, Hanger,Customer, Testimonial, Endorsement, Payment, Booked, Trusted, Shipping, Booking,Packaging”. prefix re- “Return, Refund, Restock,Refurbish”. Compounding combining two or more classesof into new form such as “Handmade, Dropship, Download, Upload,Cashback, Online, Offline, Stockroom, Showroom, Giveaway, Fullset, Checkout”. Clipping theprocess cutting parts itself from thathave than one syllable that gets at beginning end asin “Advertisement (Ad), Original (Ori), Brother (Bro), Sister (Sist)”. acronym isthe taking initial letter each arranged mentionthe abbreviation extension term, can be pronounced word.
